Policies to shape the future of the downstream

Role of the downstream sector in modern Britain

The downstream fuels sector delivers millions of litres of fuels daily as well as other products which support the wider economy. The sector is a key component of UK energy security and is uniquely placed to reduce emissions in a way that is cost efficient and world-leading now that the UK has set its net zero target in legislation.

This page compiles a series of papers that consider some of the biggest challenges facing our sector and society. UKPIA's member companies can make a significant contribution to the delivery of objectives set by policymakers, and these papers identify principles and high level changes that could ensure how the sector best contributes in their delivery.
