UK and devolved governments

Good dialogue between industry and regulatory stakeholders is fundamental to ensuring positive outcomes for all.

We work closely with government, regulators and other political stakeholders to help decision-makers by providing balanced messaging as well as pragmatic and scientifically-sound evidence that is essential in delivering good public policy for all.

This includes reaching out to a number of government departments and executive agencies to make them aware of industry issues.

UKPIA supports the downstream oil sector through positive and targeted advocacy with key government stakeholders.

At the UK Government-level, UKPIA has well-established relationships with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Department for Transport (DfT), Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA), as well as key bodies such as the Health & Safety Executive, Environment Agency and HM Revenue & Customs.

With so much of the responsibility for environmental and energy policy shared across the devolution settlement, UKPIA also maintains close contact with the Scottish Government and Welsh Government, as well as the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) and Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
