Changes in Road Transport Fuel Duty and VAT Increase

PRESS RELEASE

 

The March 2010 Budget statement announced a number of changes affecting road transport fuel duty.

Fuel duty increased by 1 penny per litre on 1 April 2010, followed by a further 1 penny rise on 1 October 2010 and the remaining 0.76p per litre on 1 January 2011.

On 4 January 2011, VAT chargeable on the total pump price increased from 17.5% to 20%.
