Pembroke Refinery is situated on the Pembroke coast and came on stream in 1964. Capacity at
that time was 6million tonnes per year and over the years has been increased to 10.5million tonnes with the addition of extra processing and upgrading units.
The refinery's catalytic cracker came on stream in 1982 and the capacity is now 4.8million tonnes
per year.
The crude oil terminal is capable of handling tankers of 275,000 tonnes deadweight. Products are distributed mainly by sea (90%), road and pipeline which connects to the Midlands and Manchester.
